Advanced Dialysis Physician Training

Return to Course Lobby

As part of Atrium’s continued commitment to providing first class education, Atrium Medical Corporation is proud to partner with Dr. John Ross, MD, FACS, and the Regional Medical Center’s Dialysis Access Institute, Orangeburg, SC to provide a series of Advanced Physician Trainings that will include 2 options: hands-on and observation only.

Dr. John Ross, the Director of the Dialysis Access Institute, has created an advanced training program in an effort to provide physicians with greater knowledge and understanding of various techniques in interventional and surgical procedures for dialysis patients.

Each training session lasts 2 days and is limited to an intimate group of 4 physicians per training. The training incorporates daily live cases combined with detailed discussions of various techniques that can be utilized in the treatment of each patient. The training is a hands-on experience where qualified operators interact within the cath lab and are exposed to a series of complex cases.

The goal of the training is to educate each physician on the rationale behind the use of various dialysis related surgical and interventional techniques. Included within the program are “hands-on” or clinical use of the ClearWay™ OTW local therapeutic infusion catheter as a multi-function tool during declotting procedures.

Physicians attending these trainings must be licensed practicing physicians with malpractice insurance. As part of the process, physicians will obtain a temporary South Carolina Medical License and obtain temporary privileges at Regional Medical Center to take part in the training.

Atrium Medical provides technical information on the ClearWay™ OTW infusion balloon catheter, ADVANTA™ VXT vascular grafts, and FLIXENE™ vascular grafts and their performance, but is not responsible for the content of the training program.
