Ultramax™

The coated Ultramax™ Knitted Double Velour Vascular Patch is what you want in a vascular patch. It is easy to cut, easy to suture, and with the patented Ultramax coating process the risk of weeping is minimized. You get all of the benefits of a coated vascular patch with a truly biologically friendly coating.

Ultramax’s™ gelatin impregnation process uses no aldehydes and as a result it creates one of the most biologically friendly coating processes available. All coatings use a cross-linking of some kind to bind the gelatin or collagen to the fabric material. Most conventional coatings use either formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde as the cross-linking agent. Histological examination has confirmed that these type of chemical reactions can effect the normal healing process of a PET vascular graft by inhibiting cellular growth. It was found that of the three types of commercially available coated PET products, Ultramax’s™ aldehyde free gel impregnation process inhibited cellular growth the least. Biological testing also confirmed that Atrium’s flexible hydrophilic coating is the least cytotoxic of those tested commercial brands.

iVENA™

Atrium’s iVENA™ patch is the thinnest PTFE vascular patch available on the market. It is a tri-laminate structure that feels and handles like vein. The iVENA™ PTFE patch is essentially the Advanta SST PTFE graft that has been laser cut to specific shapes for use as a patch material. The iVENA™ patch is an ultra-thin PTFE Vascular Patch with a wall thickness that is approximately 0.3mm compared to the 0.4mm thickness of other leading PTFE patches. The incredible "vein-like" handling of the iVENA™ PTFE patch allows for very easy suturability and handling.
