The all new HydraGlide
XL™ coated silicone catheter is a
brand new catheter technology designed specifically
for chest drainage following cardiac and thoracic
surgery. The revolutionary HydraGlide XL is a small
caliber, super-flexible chest tube with
increased hole perforation length and multiple drainage
eyelet locations. The new extended-length design
is also fully croppable at either end for convenient
length adjustment. Flow model tests have confirmed
Atrium's superior air and fluid
drainage
capacity vs.
conventional silicone channel drains.* The lower
profile 20 and 24 Fr. sized catheters are made of
soft, but kink-resistant silicone with a unique wall
construction that conforms to the chest anatomy
for improved patient comfort and increased drainage
performance. The Hydraglide XL is made from a next
generation high tear strength
silicone compound
which helps reduce the risk of tearing or breaking.
Atrium's exclusive "thrombus reduction
technology" aids in clot management
and offers more "occlusion free" performance
than uncoated silicone drains for improved
patient care.
Atrium's advanced HydraGlide
coating technology features trace amounts
of Heparin covalently bonded to and immobilized into
the surface of the hydrophilic coating to further
reduce
adherent clot formation in and around the collection
holes and luminal surface of the catheter. The slippery
hydrophilic coating has an extremely
low coefficient of friction which has been reported
to greatly improve
patient
comfort and ease removal by reducing tissue adhesion
to the catheter material. The patented hydrophilic
surface may also aid in wound
healing
after catheter removal.
When
choice
in chest tube selection and uninterrupted drainage
performance really counts,
make the right choice
with Hydraglide™ XL ...the
new standard in small caliber silicone catheters
from Atrium.

| Safety Information This product contains a permanent, covalently bonded
Heparin complex to inhibit clot formation. It is now known that
selected patients may be sensitive to Heparin exposure following
prior Heparin usage. Patients must be screened for Heparin induced
thrombocytopenia (HIT) prior to use of this device. Do
not use this device if any patient is known to be sensitive to
Heparin or is suspected of HIT at any time.
